🇺🇸 Rabat didn’t quite wow me. The city feels a bit bland, more modern than “Moroccan”, making it hard to catch the vibe like in Marrakech or Fez. But it’s worth checking out the Oudayas Kasbah and Chellah with its ruins among greenery - these two spots have their charm. Other than that... the rest can wait for another time.

🇵🇱 Rabat nie zrobił na mnie wielkiego wrażenia. To miasto trochę nijakie, bardziej nowoczesne niż „marokańskie”, przez co trudno tu poczuć klimat jak w Marrakeszu czy Fezie. Ale warto podejść do Twierdzy Oudayas i zobaczyć Chellah z ruinami wśród zieleni — te dwa miejsca naprawdę mają swój urok. Poza tym… reszta może poczekać na inną okazię.

This park, designed in 1916 by French architect Albert Laprade, is the green lung of the city, covering 30 hectares. You will find exotic plants, century-old palm trees, lily ponds, and even arches from the former Portuguese Anfa prison. Perfect place for a walk or rest with a blanket on the grass! 🇺🇸 Oh, I almost missed that impressive mosque! Everywhere I looked, it said that the Hassan II Mosque is closed on Fridays, and what day did I arrive in Casablanca to visit? Of course, it was on a Friday! Luckily, I checked and managed to visit! It’s one of the largest in the world, accommodating up to 105,000 worshipers, including 25,000 in the main prayer hall. If you’re in Casablanca, you must see it!!

🇵🇱 O mały włos i nie zobaczyłabym tego imponującego meczetu! Wszędzie informacja, że meczet Hassana II jest zamknięty w piątki, a w jaki dzień przyjechałam zwiedzając Casablancę? No oczywiście, że w piątek. Całe szczęście, że poszłam sprawdzić i udało mi się zwiedzić! To jeden z największych na świecie, mogący pomieścić aż 105 000 wiernych, w tym 25 000 w sali głównej modlitewnej. Jeśli jesteś w Casablance, musisz to zobaczyć!!

For thousands of years, camels have served people, carrying them and their goods across endless deserts. Today they mostly carry tourists because they need to be maintained, watered, and fed – so they still earn their keep. They are not only working animals but also symbols of strength and endurance of Moroccan communities, and their presence is a valuable part of local culture. It’s important to ensure they are treated well. These are wise and patient animals deserving respect.

🇵🇱 Co byś zrobił, gdybyś mógł spełnić dwa marzenia w jednym dniu? Jedno z moich marzeń było odwiedzić pustynię i przejechać się na wielbłądzie. Będąc w Maroku, udało mi się spełnić oba te marzenia! 45 stopni Celsjusza, gorące powietrze palące twarz – to prawdziwy marokański klimat…
Przez tysiące lat wielbłądy służyły ludziom, przewożąc ich i ich towary przez bezkresne pustynie. Dziś wożą głównie turystów, bo w jakiś sposób trzeba je utrzymać, napoić i nakarmić – więc wciąż na siebie zarabiają. To nie tylko zwierzęta gospodarskie, ale także symbol siły i wytrwałości marokańskich społeczności, a ich obecność jest cenną częścią lokalnej kultury. Warto jednak zwracać uwagę, czy są dobrze traktowane. To mądre i cierpliwe zwierzęta, które zasługują na szacunek.

🇺🇸 The artillery battery that slid off the cliff and now seems to emerge from the earth? Of course, I had to see it. Despite being exhausted from a week of training and sore from intense field exercises, I decided to go for a walk to shake it off! It’s fascinating how cliff erosion has affected the positioning of this historic site. The traces of World War II amidst the dense greenery make an incredible impression and allow you to feel the spirit of history. Such places are a reminder of how nature can alter human creations, and for me, each such adventure is another step in discovering the world and myself.

To fascynujące, jak erozja klifu wpłynęła na położenie tego historycznego miejsca. Ślady po II wojnie światowej wśród gęstej zieleni robią niesamowite wrażenie i pozwalają poczuć ducha historii. The Medina of Marrakech is a bustling maze. I wanted to go in a totally different direction, but ended up here – at Ben Youssef Madrasa. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt I had to see this place with my own eyes! The architecture, colors, vibe, and beauty are beyond words.
Built in 1564-65, Ben Youssef Madrasa is one of the largest Islamic schools in the Maghreb. Its nearly square layout houses 130 rooms around a courtyard with a fountain. The intricate mosaics, carved cedar wood, and stucco details take your breath away. This is where history and art meet in an unforgettable style.
Morocco never ceases to amaze me!
🇵🇱 Zanurz się w historii i architekturze jednego z najważniejszych zabytków Marrakeszu.
Medina w Marrakeszu to tłoczny labirynt. Chciałam iść zupełnie w innym kierunku, ale trafiłam tutaj – do Madrassy Ben Youseff. Od razu poczułam, że muszę to miejsce zobaczyć na własne oczy! Architektura, kolory, klimat i piękno są nie do opisania.
Madrassa powstała w 1564-65 roku i jest jedną z największych szkół islamskich w Maghrebie. Budynek ma plan niemal kwadratu, 130 pokoi wokół dziedzińca z fontanną. Misternie rzeźbione mozaiki, drewno cedrowe i stiuk zapierają dech. Tu historia i sztuka łączą się w wyjątkowy sposób.
Maroko nie przestaje mnie zadziwiać!

The Medina of Marrakech can surprise you at every turn. I stumbled upon this place completely by chance, and it stole my heart! Ben Youssef Madrasa was home to hundreds of students for centuries.
I imagine young people living and studying the Quran and Islamic law here, surrounded by carved details and the peaceful courtyard. Walking inside, you can feel the history and spirit of education that once made this place a center of the Maghreb.
Morocco continues to amaze me with its richness and magic at every step!
🇵🇱 Setki studentów, tysiące opowieści – poznaj dawną medresę, która była sercem edukacji w Maroku.
Medina w Marrakeszu potrafi zaskoczyć na każdym kroku. Trafiłam tam zupełnie przypadkowo, a to miejsce skradło moje serce! Madrassa Ben Youseff to nie tylko zabytkowa szkoła – przez wieki była domem dla setek studentów.
Wyobrażam sobie młodych ludzi, którzy mieszkali i uczyli się Koranu oraz prawa islamskiego, otoczonych rzeźbionymi detalami i spokojem dziedzińca. Wchodząc do środka, czuć ducha dawnej edukacji i historii, która uczyniła to miejsce centrum Maghrebu.

🇺🇸 There’s a swing on the edge of a cliff. And yes – it’s worth it.
I hiked Broumovské stěny off-season. Started in Slavný, passed Božanovský Špičák, found quiet trails, crazy rock formations, and hidden viewpoints that took my breath away. Koruna was my favorite – narrow stone paths and that swing with no one around. Kamenná Brána? There’s a legend it leads to another world… I didn’t want this hike to end.

🇵🇱 Na skraju urwiska stoi huśtawka. I serio – warto było.
Przeszłam Broumovské stěny poza sezonem. Wystartowałam ze Slavný, zahaczyłam o Božanovský Špičák, odkrywałam ciche szlaki, niesamowite formacje skalne i ukryte punkty widokowe, które zapierały dech. Najbardziej podobała mi się Koruna – wąskie kamienne przejścia i ta huśtawka, tylko dla mnie. Kamenná Brána? Mówią, że to brama do innego świata… Nie chciałam kończyć tej wędrówki.

🇬🇧 Teplice Rock City surprised me more than I expected.
No tickets, no people, just me and the sandstone giants.
The metal stairs felt fine… until I saw the Enter at your own risk sign and had to climb nearly vertical ladders.
At the top, I was proud. On the way down – scared.
And then came the icy labyrinth, dark corridors, and me regretting I left my crampons in the car.
That’s the kind of solo travel I love – real, unpredictable, a bit uncomfortable.

🇵🇱 Teplickie Skały zaskoczyły mnie bardziej, niż się spodziewałam.
Brak biletów, brak ludzi – tylko ja i skalni giganci.
Metalowe schody były okej… dopóki nie zobaczyłam znaku „Wejście na własne ryzyko” i niemal pionowych drabinek.
Na górze byłam dumna. Schodząc – przerażona.
Potem przyszły oblodzone labirynty, mroczne korytarze i myśl, że raki zostały w samochodzie.

🇺🇸 I don’t know what surprised me more: the cliffs, the cats… or the plastic bottle of wine.
Only I could turn getting on a boat into an adventure. No info, no stop count, just vibes – I got on with about 50% confidence it was the right one. They let me in, so… guess it was.
Huge white cliffs, crystal clear water, snorkeling without a mask (turns out, it wasn’t included – I thought it was). We visited Kornati National Park and Telašćica Nature Park: scenic viewpoints, a salty lake, and yes… wine in a plastic bottle. It was warm. No, I do not recommend.
And the cats. Stray little souls everywhere. They stole my heart more than the landscape – and that says a lot, because it looked like the moon. You have to see it.
🇵🇱 Nie wiem, co bardziej mnie zaskoczyło: klify, koty… czy wino z plastiku.
Ja to mam przygody nawet przy wsiadaniu na statek. Zero opisu trasy, zero informacji ile przystanków – ale jakoś się udało. Wsiadłam z 50% pewnością, że to ta łódka. No cóż, skoro mnie wpuszczono, to chyba tak.
Białe klify, krystalicznie czysta woda, snorkeling… bez maski (myślałam, że jest w cenie – nie był). Park Narodowy Kornati i Park Przyrody Telašćica – piękne punkty widokowe, słone jezioro i wino z plastikowej butelki. Ciepłe. Nie polecam.
A koty? Bezdomne, błąkające się, cudowne. Ukradły moje serce bardziej niż sam krajobraz – a to już coś. Bo tam naprawdę wygląda jak na Księżycu. To trzeba zobaczyć.
