Apps That Actually Helped Me in Singapore
During my stay in Singapore, these apps genuinely helped me. Below you will find short descriptions. Each one explains what the app is useful for in practice.
- LRT – Light Rapid Transit (light rail, above ground metro)
- MRT – Mass Rapid Transit (metro)

1. Google Maps
Reliable as always. It allows route planning using all available transport options and follows current timetables closely. As a result, it is easy to estimate travel time and choose the best option. Moreover, the app lets you create your own maps and save places for later. In practice, you can easily find nearby attractions and food spots. Honest user reviews with photos are always available. Overall, the app worked perfectly in Singapore.

2. MyTransport
An app with bus, MRT, and LRT timetables that makes daily travel around the city easier. Thanks to the built in metro map, you can plan your route and check the best connection. What matters most is that the app shows service disruptions and possible delays in real time, so you can react faster to changes. In addition, it displays nearby stops in your area, which is especially helpful in a new place. As a bonus, it also includes nearby cycling routes, making it easier to plan an alternative way of getting around Singapore.

3. Gojek
An Indonesian alternative to Uber or Bolt that also works in Singapore. The app lets you order transport from point A to point B. At the same time, you can order food and basic shopping. Because of this, it works well in areas not covered by public transport. What is important is that prices are competitive and often lower than in the Grab app. In practice, this solution worked very well in Singapore, especially during peak hours.

4. redBus
Extensive transport connections from Singapore to Malaysia. The app covers many bus operators and different price ranges. It is easy to use and allows fast ticket purchases. A key advantage is offline ticket access, which is useful while traveling. With one app, you can compare offers from multiple operators in Singapore.
5. Klook
A popular Asian app for searching and buying attraction tickets. It offers a wide selection. The app is easy to use, so it works well while traveling. Results can be filtered by category. These include accommodation, outdoor and sports, car rentals, food, attractions, and theme parks. You can also book organized tours. This makes planning sightseeing on site much easier.
6. GetYourGuide
One of the apps I used most often. It offers a wide range of tours and attraction tickets. At the same time, you can filter results by category. These include culture, food, nature, and sports. There is also a map with nearby attractions, which helps with on site planning. Competitive prices and simple use make the app convenient. In Singapore, it did not disappoint and worked very well in practice.

7. foodPanda
A popular Asian app for ordering food and groceries with delivery. Food is divided into clear categories, so it is easy to find something suitable. You can also check menus and user reviews before placing an order. Delivery goes directly to your accommodation, which is very convenient. The app itself is simple and intuitive to use. What is important is that attractive promotions appear often, especially for new users.
8. Agoda
It works much better in the Asian market than Booking and often offers lower prices. The app allows you to book hotels, hostels, apartments, and guesthouses, so it is easy to match accommodation to your needs. You can filter results by property type, dates, price, and available amenities. The entire booking process happens in the app. Later communication is also handled there, which makes organizing your stay much easier.
9. Airalo
One of my long term travel companions that I regularly use for mobile internet abroad. Airalo was one of the first apps to offer mobile data through eSIM technology, which is still a major advantage today. The service covers packages for over 200 countries and locations, so it also works well on longer trips. Prices are competitive, and the app is easy to use. The eSIM installation process is also simple. In Singapore, it worked very well again and had no issues.
Transport and Getting Around in Singapore
Grab
A popular app in Southeast Asia that works in a similar way to Uber or Bolt. It is especially useful in areas not covered by public transport, because it allows direct travel to a specific address. In Singapore, it worked very well. However, prices could rise quickly during peak hours. For this reason, it is a good alternative to Gojek, especially when you compare current fares before booking a ride.

CDG Zig
An app for booking taxi rides or private cars that works well in Singapore. It shows the route in real time, so it is easier to track the ride and feel safer. It also offers the Pay for Street Hail option. Thanks to this feature, you can pay for a traditional taxi ride cashless, without looking for cash on the spot.

Moovit
It works in a similar way to Google Maps and helps check available public transport connections. The app includes different transport options, so you can plan trips in one place. It also allows you to quickly find nearby stops, which makes getting around the city easier. However, it is worth noting that some features are paid. In the free version, many ads are displayed.
Transtar Travel
A transport operator running routes between major cities in Malaysia and Singapore. It offers connections to places such as Melaka, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, Perak, and Penang. Because of this, it works well for cross border travel. The service also stands out for frequent departures and competitive prices. In practice, it is a good addition to the redBus app, especially when you need alternative times or different operators.
12Go
An app that allows you to book and buy tickets for trains, buses, ferries, vans, taxis, and even flights. It is especially popular in Asia because it combines different transport options in one place. As a result, it is easier to compare available options and plan your next journey. However, it is worth keeping in mind that the destination database is still limited. For this reason, it works best as a complement to other apps.

Food and Attractions
Tripadvisor
An ideal solution if you do not know the area and want to find your way quickly. The app covers attractions, hotels, tours, restaurants, and pubs, all supported by user reviews and photos. Thanks to filters, you can narrow results by rating, cuisine type, price range, or specific location. You can also search for places nearby. In addition, the app allows you to book selected attractions directly from your phone, which makes on site planning much easier.
Tiqets
A nearby attraction search tool with the option to buy tickets online, without waiting in lines. The purchase is processed instantly, so the ticket appears in the app right away. This saves time and allows more spontaneous sightseeing plans. In practice, the app works well as an alternative or a complement to GetYourGuide and Klook, especially when one of them has no available dates.

Chope
An app that works in several Asian cities, including Singapore. It allows real time table reservations. At the same time, you can order food for pickup or delivery. Because of this, it is easy to plan a meal without waiting on site. The app also helps you discover new places. In addition, it offers many discounts, which really reduce food costs. In practice, it is an ideal tool for exploring the city through food.
Singapore Travel Guide
A guide to Singapore with information about shopping, nightlife, food, tours, and hotels, along with many practical tips. The app includes three maps covering attractions, the metro, and general transport, which makes getting around the city easier. It also offers day by day sightseeing plans. Because of this, it works very well as a starting point if you do not have a ready made itinerary.
Accommodation in Singapore
Airbnb
A well known app for renting rooms, apartments, and homes, mostly from private hosts. It often offers lower prices than hotels, which makes it a good option for longer stays. Booking and payment are handled directly in the app, so the process is simple. What is important is that check in is often self service and contactless. Because of this, you do not need to adjust to reception hours.
Booking
It also works in Singapore and offers hotels, hostels, apartments, and guesthouses. It is often more expensive than Agoda, but it is still useful for comparing prices and availability. Booking, payments, and contact with the property are handled entirely in the app. As a result, organizing accommodation is much easier.
Internet and eSIM in Singapore
Singtel hi! App
A local operator offering mobile internet, including eSIM options. In practice, the app is not very intuitive. You need to buy the eSIM separately on the website first. Only then can you activate it in the app. In addition, the setup process is not very simple, which can be inconvenient while traveling. For this reason, it is more of a local solution and not the most convenient option for tourists.
