How did I get to Trzęsacz, and where is it located?

This year, I spent my vacation in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, exploring its many corners. After a week-long stay in Szczecin, I moved on to Kołobrzeg, visiting several towns along the way, including Trzęsacz.

Trzęsacz is located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, on the cliff in Rewal. It lies along the 15th meridian, marking Central European Time. The village is situated between Międzyzdroje and Kołobrzeg, just a few kilometers from Rewal. It is best known for the ruins of a Gothic church, or rather, what little remains of it. These ruins are the main attraction, drawing countless tourists every summer.

Trzęsacz attractions

As I already mentioned, the most popular attraction in Trzęsacz is the ruins of the Gothic church dedicated to St. Nicholas. The church was built at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries and initially stood about 2 kilometers from the shore. Due to erosion processes (cliff undercutting), today only the last wall of the church remains.

The 15th meridian, which marks Central European Time, is signposted along the promenade. There is also the Fish Pizza 15 Południk restaurant and the Multimedia Museum, both worth visiting. The museum delves into the history of the church’s erosion, explains the location of the town, and showcases a charming legend about the Green Lady.

At the end of the promenade is the Viewing Platform, which also serves as an access point to the beach. From here, you can admire the surrounding area and the church ruins. It stands approximately 20 meters above sea level. Before entering the platform, you’ll also find a mermaid monument.

Of course, the beach in Trzęsacz is another must-see attraction. It is wide, sandy, and stretches along the cliff. The views are breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset.

Trzęsacz is also traversed by a famous narrow-gauge railway. Two routes are available for passengers. The longest route includes 15 stations, starting in Gryfice and ending in Pogorzelica. The shorter route covers 7 stations within the Rewal commune. Ticket prices range from 18 to 90 PLN.

What to see nearby?

Trzęsacz is located near several popular seaside towns. It’s just a 1.5-kilometer walk along the beach to Rewal, and 6 kilometers to Niechorze. Heading in the other direction, Pustkowo is about 2 kilometers away. A bit farther, you’ll find Kamień Pomorski (about 21 km), Międzyzdroje (about 43 km), Świnoujście (about 56 km), and Kołobrzeg (about 50 km). Walking along the cliff tops toward Rewal, you’ll come across a stunning viewpoint and panorama.

Trzęsacz Parking

Trzęsacz offers several parking options. Even during peak season, we didn’t have much trouble finding a spot. The daily rates are around 15-30 PLN. Most are located along the main street, just a short walk from the promenade.

Summary:

During the day, large crowds of tourists gather around the town’s only promenade. The beaches are wide and stretch along the cliffs. Despite its small size, the town boasts two viewpoints that offer scenic vistas. By late afternoon, the town becomes calm—a big plus for those seeking relaxation and a good night’s sleep. However, for night owls, the downside is that everything closes in the evening.
