Brandenburg, Land of Lakes – Siethener See

The destination of my Sunday trip was Siethener See. My goal was to walk around the entire water reservoir. The walk took me 1 hour and 45 minutes, covering 7.81 kilometers.

The starting point of the trip was a parking lot located at the “outskirts” of the town of Siethen, right next to a small beach that is very popular in the summertime. Siethener See is a highly popular lake in the area. It features numerous piers, summer cottages, and trees fallen into the water.

Most of the route from the parking lot leads through forests, meadows, and summer cottages along the lake. The environment around is a perfect habitat for many animal species. It is also a very popular swimming spot. In the summer, it’s common to see paddleboarders (paddleboarding on a surfboard).

Right next to Siethener See is Gröbener See. The lakes are connected by a stream located between points 4 and 5 on the map. Walking along the lake, then along this stream, you can find a tiny metal bridge hidden in the thicket between the trees. An alternative is to reach the main road and cross the water there. The last 1.5 kilometers, in light rain, I had to walk through the small but charming town of Siethen.

The entire 7.81 km route took me just under 1 hour and 45 minutes, including stops to take a few pictures. For a Sunday walk, I highly recommend it!

If my article helped you plan your route and gather the necessary information, I would be grateful for your support in making my dreams come true by buying me a coffee!
